What is an ideal way of introducing science to children?

Nowadays, the biggest issue in the education system is that students forget the theories by the end of the semester and study just for marks. The concept of studying for marks without learning anything destroys the very foundation of going to a school. Even the parents encourage students to aim for higher grades without ensuring that their children have learned the concepts. Teachers also value only those students who are capable of excelling in their examinations.

In an environment where a child is pressurized to strive for numbers, the end result is a student who has no clue where to apply his/her knowledge or how to apply it in the first place. The best way to deal with this situation is by introducing a child to the applications of science from a very young age.

It can be seen that the vast majority of the students hate subjects like science and mathematics. But only a handful of teachers and parents have given it a thought as to why is it so. It is evident for a child to hate something that is forced on him/her rather than taught appropriately. Lack of proper training given to the teachers results in the growing number of students hating the subjects. But when the subjects are taught via games, activities and mini-projects, it sparks curiosity and interest in the subject. It teaches them that science is what we breathe and look around us. It teaches them that it is introduced in the syllabus not merely to overburden them but to familiarise them with the things happening around them.
